After the planes flew into the World Trade Center towers in NYC on 9/11/2001, the towers were able to remain standing for a significant period of time and allowed thousands of occupants to safely evacuate the buildings. How did they stand and why did they ultimately collapse?
Bob will describe how and why the building's structural design concept was originally conceived and how it ultimately saved thousands of lives.
Bob Anderson worked as a structural engineer in Seattle for over 35 years with major projects in Washington, Alaska and Chicago. After he retired, he was a principal for the structural engineering firm that provided the structural design for the World Trade Center Twin Towers in NYC.
