Hope’s Village has a solution for reducing homelessness in SLO without government assistance. This organization aims to build a model sustainable community village of permanent tiny houses for our local homeless veterans, women and our elderly folks to live.
With the ever growing problem of homelessness, the Hope’s Village board of directors began a decade ago by becoming a 501(c)(3) public charity California corporation. They have a viable solution for reducing homelessness in SLO that can be duplicated anywhere. Without government assistance, they aim to build a model sustainable community village of permanent tiny houses. They have already built four “tinies”. While not depending on government funds, they involve the entire community in this win/win for everyone.
Hope’s Village presently has 377 donors, 12 who donate automatically each month. These folks want our village to happen and their board is in this for the long haul.
This class will introduce you to the organization and will discuss the pros and cons of their
goals.
