This is a beautiful time to visit one of our popular olive orchards in Templeton. You will spend the afternoon in an olive grove, learning all about the production of olive oil.  You will take a tour of an olive orchard and talk about the processes involved in making a quality extra virgin olive oil.   From planting, cultivating and harvesting to milling, bottling and selling, the hosts will talk about it all, even the tawdry side of the industry!

Find out about the roller coaster ups and downs of farming and learn about the marketplace.  The hosts will discuss why the Central Coast farmers have found a wonderful niche for their award-winning products. This is an interactive session that will involve tasting, pairing and lots of questions and answers.  The farm is located at The Groves at 4455 East Highway 41 in Templeton.

A leisurely lunch will be offered during your stay. At checkout you will be asked to choose a Lunch Box option. Please bring an additional $20 with you to the event to cover this expense.

May 22 from 10:30 to 1:30

Karen Tallent left the corporate world to run her own olive farm in San Luis Obispo. She is very passionate about olive oil and she even considers talking about olive oil to be her hobby! Originally from Los Angeles, she studied the industry at UC Davis and just became hooked. She also earned an MBA from LMU. Tallent farms 4000 olive trees, alongside her daughter, and produces award winning oils.
